This is a serious white wine, which happens to be made from Albarino.

It is textural, fresh, vibrant and engaging with a beautiful array of stone-fruit flavours, minerality and a saline kick that really makes your mouth water. It's one of the top tier Albarinos and we reckon it's excellent value to boot.

This wine is aged for a minimum of 5 months on its fine lees - the best bits of the grape skins - which give it a lovely tuxture, focus and clarity. The estate itself has roots dating back to the sixteenth century and the current owner was the chair of the regional DO and was part of the original drive to push Albarino quality higher (rather than just to make more volume) and used the Pazo Señorans winery to assist in his argument. You'll agree, like everyone else did...

The grapes are grown in granitic decomposed soils, that are really poor quality, high in acid and excellent for draining. The roots for these vines are very deep, which assist them in combating winds, rain and hail which can all punctuate the growing season.  

Without extremes of temperatures, the Atlantic influence on these vineyards is really telling. Cooling breezes in the hot summer months and the retention of heat through the winter, this region seems especially suited to the Albarino grape. It is naturally lower in acidity than many other white varieties and prone to over-ripeness; the cool help it retain freshness while the Spanish sunshine ripens the grapes fully.

The sea then imparts (sometimes) a genuinely magic mineral touch which manifests itself as salinity in the grapes and wines, taking them from seaside quaffing bottles to serious culinary partners on a different level.
