This is a delightful wine that sits mid-way between classic French and New World styles of Sauvignon Blanc with mouth-watering acidity and tropical fruit flavours. It is a great match for light meals and is particularly good with goat's cheese.

A mini-Sancerre, this is very fine indeed and really shoots way above its appellation's more lowly status.

Domaine Octavie are based in the town of Oisly, a small commune to the south of the Loire river about 60 kilometres east of Tours. The Domaine has been in the Rouballay family since 1885 and is now run by Isabelle and Noë Rouballay, who are the 5th generation.

Sandy clay and flinty soils allow for deep rooted vines and the search for mineral content and nutrients, giving the wines extra layers, texture and flavour. There is a Oisly appellation and Octavie do make a few cuvées, but for us, this is the best way to get to know this really charming district of the Loire.
