Youthful, light and full of brightness - not quite a school report, but a really delightful and tasty white from one of Sicily's champion grape varieties. Citrus fruit, tropical notes and fresh fig flavours give this wine a free pass to any cuisine, especially one based in the relaxed south of Italy.

Value in Sicily is not hard to find; quality and value, however, are not always present at the same stand, so it is really good to find this wine delivering both in spades.

Made from parcels of vines grown predominantly on the southern side of Sicily, these grapes come from members of the largest so-operative in Sicily called Cantina Settesole. It's their nearly top-end premium level, so you can see the value that they offer off the bat. Harvesting from better sites and a variety of micro-climates allows them to almost design the wine from vintage to vintage and, key point, the alcohol can remain moderate without the wine suffering a tendency to become weedy or insipid.
