Wither Hills, Sauvignon Blanc
Lovely and fresh, bright and completely typical of a well-made Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough. Intense aromas of gooseberry, green apple and nettle with tropical fruit nuances make this a delicious and great value wine.
Ideal as an aperitif or with light seafood and salads.
The Wither Hills are a range of slopes at the northern stretch of New Zealand's Southern Alps.
As a massively imposing and beautiful backdrop, it's little wonder that they would be assumed into the name of a winery and, in 1994, that's what happened.
This Marlborough range of wines is a concept that's very much a winemaking one and though they use serious local knowledge for vine selection, it is the makers who are the stars in the project.
Their vineyard managers spend most of their energies in the small lots for their single-vineyard wines taken from all over New Zealand's finest regions and sub-zones, but always ensure that the right fruit is available for this, the flagship wine, their good old Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
