In France, they drink more wine from the Cotes du Rhône than any other appellation.
It's not difficult to see why when you have a wine like this - charming, medium full-bodied, smooth, balanced, fruity and structured. Blackberry, plum and licorice spice are delivered via the classic Rhone blend of the magic five varieties Syrah, Grenache Mourvedre, Carignane and Cinsault.
Excellent all-round red wine that has absolutely no hard edges.
This is wine is a blend of the best grapes from the 245 growers who supply the Demazet group. It is a combination of two former cooperatives that joined forces in 2015 amid some serisouly challenging times for wine regions in the south of France. Carrying too much weight and with too little dynamism, groups of vignerons and growers were unable to market and sell in competitive ways and there were numerous examples of groups going bust. The Demazet creation saved these farmers and brought a very smart idea to fruition, which is this higher level of quality wine - the Réserve des Armoiries. This tier is made from a selection of 225 hectares out of 1400 of the total vineyard holdings that the group possess, which ensures the continued availability and quality of their production.
