Rocca della Macie, Chianti Classico 375ml Half Bottle

A delicious half bottle of Chianti Classico and Tuscan sunshine, this is a bright red wine that has loads of cherry and violet aromas and delivers a fresh amd complex palate with an earthy, savoury finish. Excellent with charcuterie and red meats, it is also lively enough to pair with salads and seafood. Really versatile as all Chianti Classicos should be.

This historic Chianti Classico estate is based in Castellina, the stunningly beautiful walled town that sits in the centre of the east-west axis to the south of the Classico zone. A significant member of the consorzio, Rocca are a producer who were key to the soil and clonal research of the 1990s that led to a huge improvement of the entire Chianti region, with the Chianti Classico producers benefiting from a rare example of shared knowledge.

Made in a very traditional manner, this wine is aged in Slavonian or French oak barrels for just under a year before resting in bottle a little longer ahead of release to the market.
