Domaine Rapet, Chorey-les-Beaune, Vielles Vignes 2022
Domaine Rapet, Chorey-les-Beaune, Vielles Vignes 2022 is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
From a near-perfect, ripe and balanced vintage, following a cold and small year, the ripeness and generosity that characterise this wine are both arresting and irresistible. Full of the typical sous-bois and elegant integrated oak nuance, this is a classic red that clearly relies on the depth and quality of the soils in which the grapes are grown, in parallel to the specific depth that comes from old vines.
Dark-colour soft fruits, berries, summer fruits and spice decorate the stylish vibrant palate that is immediately approachable and utterly delicious.
Situated to the north of the town on Beaune and immediately to the south of Savigny, the vineyards of Chorey lie in the shadow of the great hill of Aloxe Corton.
In Rapet's hands, this wine is elegant, subtly complex with fresh floral notes and flavours of Morello cherries, blackberries and raspberry, with a long, silky, engaging finish.
This is also, given the current climate, an absolute steal.
