Firmin Dezat , Sancerre Blanc 375ml Half Bottle

€1599

This is a crystalline, beautiful and really quite dazzling wine, that happens to be from one of the most famous white wine regions in France.

Full of green apple, nettle, blackcurrant leaf, citrus nuance, exotic fruits and white floral flavours, it is a glass of sunshine, perfect for seafood, salads, poultry, goat's cheese and on its own. There's acidity enough to refresh the palate and balance food - pitch perfect wine-making.

Firmin Dezat is the grandson of the legendary André Dezat and in 2021 inherited half of the family estate. Keeping the winery and half of the vineyards, he and his father have begun the process of organic conversion and produce a range of red white and rosé wines in Sancerre, Pouilly Fumé and Menetou Salon appellations.

The vineyards are top-drawer in quality with high proportions of Terres Blanches and Caillottes and rare pockets of the legendary Silex soils that each give aromatic quality, acidity and structure to the potentially four-square Sauvignon Blanc grape. In the hands of the Dezat family and, moreover, from their vines, the grapes have never been dull, but always full of vigour and vitality. We've sold wines from the family for about fifteen years and love them dearly.
