Alberto Longo's estate is located in the north of Puglia, just outside the town of Lucera. The Longo family has its farming roots in the area for over three generations.
The estate of 35 hectares released their first wines in 2005. Concentrating mainly on the indigenous grapes, Negromarao, Nero di Troia and Montepulciano, Alberto's wines have already gained a reputation as being the best of the region. The winemaker is Graziana Grassini, a protegê of Giaccomo Tachis, and well known to us for her tremendous efforts at Fattoria di Magliano in Tuscany. She has managed to bring the ripeness of fruit, typical of the south, together with a wonderful level of fresh acidity. There's an elegance, finesse, and balance to these wines which make them a firm favourite of ours. You can read more about the wines on our blog.
