BOX OF THE MONTH!
Not being hugely endowed with creativity, I've decided to move to a Monthly offering of wonders rather than naming it as a weekly one!
You'll get a more earnestly researched box and in it I'm aiming to include at least one serious or iconic wine. (In this box you're certainly getting a few contenders for that title)
This way you'll get a special special offer that might even broaden your horizons. Who knows. At least the wines will shine, and there will always be a good deal of value too!
Sounds good right?!
How much?
Over 15% off. That's how much!
The Box of The Week was, in part, an answer to the many questions that I get on a fairly regular basis, like: "Chris, what's your favourite wine?" or "Chris, what are you going to drink this weekend?" or "Chris, have you got anything that's new?" or "What do you drink with this sort of weather?" or, quite often, "Hey, what are we bringing on holiday?"...
This is a chance for you to get inside my head and see what wines I'm really thinking about at this very moment in time. Or at least what I've found that has really turned my head over the month.
Made of the wines that I can see would make a brilliant wine-tasting, or that may have been overlooked, or under-sold... or a combination of all these and more, this is going to be the place where you're most likely to find the odds and ends that I've become rather keen on picking up - they never last long!
You'll get six bottles, one each of the following:
Trimbach, Riesling - I remembered this old chestnut and got a really decent price on it, so I reminded myself how wonderful it is, and I'm passing it on to you!
Manzanos, Viñas Viejas Rioja Blanco - a real star at our recent Beyond Bordeaux tasting; this is complex and bright - a charming alternative to white Burgundy.
Saladini Pilastri, Falerio - summer bottled. One of our best-selling whites that I tried again a few weeks back in the sunshine - beautiful
Le Volte dell'Ornellaia - ICON - this is the most approachable of all of the Ornellaia wines and is a truly brilliant Tuscan red. Even at full price this is a value for money offering as you're getting some of the finest winemaking expertise in the world for the price of a shy round of pints. A delicious, layered and rewarding red that amazingly comes in at only 13% abv.
Chateau Cap d'Or, Saint-Georges-Saint-Emilion - the other star from our tasting, this is a broad, generous and fleshy Bordeaux that, once again, shows value for money from one of the lesser-known Saint-Emilion satellites. It's a wine that does justice to its very beautiful label!
Capezzana, Barco Reale di Carmignano - a favourite appellation of ours, this is a small zone at the north of Tuscany that uses Sangiovese legally blended with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. It's very good and really versatile - year-round drinking happiness!
Normal price: €144.94
OFFER PRICE: €123 - SAVE OVER €20 - OVER 15%!!
Usual caveat applies: if we are out of stock of a specific wine, we will replace it with one of the same value or higher, equally delicious and as close in style as we can make it. But we really shouldn't as there are only three wines...!
